Brief description: | Versmannkai Ost is located in the Elbbrücken neighbourhood of HafenCity. This is currently being developed into a new district with residential and commercial buildings.
The construction sites 102, 105, 108 and 110 were located in an area of a former water surface that had not yet been probed. The aim of the work was to check the as yet unprobed construction sites with suspected unexploded bombs down to a depth of -9.5 m above sea level (-15 m below ground level) by means of borehole probing and to achieve clearance. Prior to the exploratory work, existing quay installations (quay plate, concrete beam, sheet piling) had to be demolished in some areas. The sheet piling was only partially removed. The soundings were carried out using a three-axis magnetometer, supplemented by an active method (in this case 4R-EM) and borehole georadar to determine the minimise the amount of civil engineering required for the salvage operation. Salvage at greater depths was carried out by means of large bore drilling and the use of divers. The terrain was adjusted by filling the excavation pits and modelling to the contractually agreed transfer heights. |
